These two are finally married! I met Alyssa & Manzur one morning at Common Bond and they made me laugh so much!  Minus the fact that we disagree on the best football team on earth, *cough*America’s team*cough*, they ended up deciding to hang out with me for some pretty important photos!

It poured on their wedding day.  I mean, poured!  You would have never known.  It had absolutely no impact on their spirits.  They laughed, cried tears of happiness, danced and celebrated a beautiful day because they had their friends and family with them to share their vows.

I truly can’t wait to meet these two for wings, beer and football while we banter back and forth on our football trivia 😉

A chilly January afternoon is when this Houston engagement and wedding photographer stood on the corner of a downtown street waiting on Nicole and Joe.  I happened to look over from where I was standing and the Gods of Light said “Stephanie…you should shoot here…” 😉  So that’s where we started our journey on the Sunday before the biggest game in football that was taking place in Houston.  (You know which one I’m talking about…)

To say the least, it was CRAYYY-zy downtown, but that didn’t stop us.  We rolled with the punches, and then took the party to a less insane location to finish up golden hour portraits.  The sun was going down and I was in panic thinking that we wouldn’t find a parking spot for us both as it was packed!  Then…all of the sudden, the parking Gods pulled two cars out in front of us and said, “...you should park here“.  So we did….and didn’t realize we needed to pay a meter so we each got tickets :/

Worth it.

It’s a bit random but I have BBQ to thank for meeting Jenna & Shane.  I know- random, right?  I’m standing in the 2 hour line at Killen’s Barbecue enjoying the free beer because…well…free beer and I get to talking with the family behind us.  They are in Houston to go on a cruise and had heard of the very popular Killen’s and decided to stop by before embarking on their ship.  Turns out that one of these family members is about to go into the wedding industry with a prop rental company, so of course we friended each other on Facebook and stayed friends.

Fast forward a few years and I’m gearing up for an annual trip to Portland for a photo conference.  My friend let’s me know that her brother and his girlfriend live in Portland so I’m like, let’s take pictures!  It gets better.  Turns out Portland, Oregon was hit with a snow storm that shocked everyone and closed down most of the city for a few days.  I arrived just in time to not have any issues and we got to shoot in the snow!

So maybe it’s not a big deal for the peeps used to the snow but for this Texas based girl who loves cold weather, it was AWESOME!

I touched base with Jenna & Shane to get a feel for their personalities since we wouldn’t be meeting before the day of actual shooting and they are HUGE outdoor lovers who love hiking and having fun, goofing off and not taking everything too seriously.  Of course they take advantage of the awesome craft beer that Portland offers, so you know, we have that in common 😉

It was windy, 25 degrees and I couldn’t have had a better time!
