I can’t think of anywhere more gorgeous for a bridal session than Sandlewood Manor. Of course it doesn’t hurt to have perfect weather, a stunning bride and equestrian decendants of Secretariat himself, but I digress.

Brittney’s bridal portraits were absolutely magical. Her dress, the flowers, her perfect makeup, those show stopping brown eyes and amazing smile all brought together the beauty below. The weather was just starting to warm up so we had a few moments of needing a drink of water, but you can’t even tell!

There are so many areas at Sandlewood that make it a bride’s dream. Second floor balconies, wooden banister stairways, wrap around porches, tree lined walk ways and beautiful majestic horses. They even brought out some feed for the horses so that they would come up and socialize with us 😉

If you’re considering bridal portraits to display at your wedding, consider scheduling your hair and makeup trial on the day of bridal pictures. It’s a great time to see what things will look like on your wedding day!

Planning a wedding in the year 2020 should have been a celebration for every couple.  Instead, every couple, wedding photographer and frankly anyone in the industry or market was handed a giant clusterf…well, you know.  Now on top of that, imagine that your wedding was the week of the first mandatory lockdown.  March 20th, to be exact.  That was supposed to be a brilliant day for Kristina and Albert.

But wait, there’s more.  Imagine being a major dog lover and having your best fur friend unexpectedly pass away days before the wedding.  Then, being called literally the day before the wedding and being told, ‘I’m so very sorry, but the fire marshal is going to venues shutting them down, we can’t marry you tomorrow.’ As you can imagine, this was more than devastating to Kristina & Albert.  They unbelievably handled it with grace and a lot of tears.  The *only* silver lining is that their original wedding date literally poured down rain all day long.

This made their new day so much sweeter.  It all came together perfectly with only a light shower just a half hour before the ceremony.  The only thing that could have made it more complete would have been to have their sweet Max.  The family, the friends and the emotions were all there.  Chardonnay and Dos XX were their drink of choice and the wedding party made sure their hands were never empty.  To put the icing on the cake, I was just texted by Kristina this evening that they have finally found it in their hearts to make a new addition to their newly established family.

Welcome, Shiner.  You and your parents have a great life ahead of you.

To say that Megan & Tony’s wedding at Iron Manor in Montgomery was a miracle is not an exaggeration.  These two have been planning their wedding for well over two years.  In the beginning, they were planning for a year earlier, but they made the decision to push it to the next year, the best option for them.  After having a few hiccups with a previous venue and a few new possible dates, they found this gem being newly built just in time for their wedding day.

Finally, their special day came.  And only a week before the world closed down.  They had a full attendance and felt so lucky to have all of their closest friends and family come together to celebrate.  Working with Megan & Tony has been such a great experience.  Both kind, sweet and ready to laugh.

I love to see all of the celebrating in these photos.  I miss being around this.  The smiles, the hugs, the dancing.  The love.

To all of us, and to celebrating together again soon.

Megan was lucky enough to get married the Friday before large gatherings were about to be shut down.  I finally get to show her bridal session.  If you haven’t seen the new Iron Manor wedding venue, go check it out, it’s really beautiful.

Megan looked like a Disney princess in her off the shoulder gown.  She, her Mom and I hopped from place to place with all of the gorgeous places to take photos.  Here are a few of my favorites 😉
