This couple is one of my faves.  They got married this May at the Pertoleum Club of Houston.  They had a packed day of events so they opted not to stress and scheduled to have wedding portraits done after the wedding!

You know how it goes, after the wedding you play catch up on everything you put on hold.  We finally got a date that worked for everyone and set off to McGovern Gardens and  let me tell you – it was a perfect day.

The weather was amazing, Heather & Jeff were bright, happy and playful.  I even got Jeff to do a cute little pose with the bouquet at the end ?

Thank you guys so much for meeting with me again, I adore you both and love laughing with you guys!

Destination engagement sessions are among my favorite.  Not just because we are shooting somewhere new, exciting and less familiar, but because of the moments in the car traveling to our destination.

Tina, Jarad and I flew to Denver this November for their engagement session, but the journey didn’t stop there.  Our ultimate destination was another 4 hour drive southwest to good ole’ Aspen.  In those four hours in the car, we gasped at the scenery, laughed about fun stories and cried about touching moments in our lives.

We shared personal trials and triumphs, talked in detail about God and how he helps us with our relationships, arrived in Aspen to take pictures in town, and then ended in Maroon Bells for their formal pictures just as the sun set over the Elk Mountains.

Tina was under the weather barely being able to talk above a whisper, but she held out in the cold like a champ.  She rocked her gorgeous designer sparkly white gown and looked like a queen doing it.  Jared warmed her up with his long wool coat as much as possible, cuddling up to her and snuggling close.

Afterward we went and had the most amazing meal at White House Tavern.  If you ever go, get the crispy chicken sandwich, it’s the top seller for a reason.  We got no real sleep that night.  We drove the four hours back to Denver, stopping for a hot minute in Frisco for some pictures Main Street to pay tribute to their favorite song and location it was videoed in.  Tequila by Dan and Shay.  By the time we got settled in our rooms, showering off the long day and trying to wind down, there were only hours until we had to wake for our 6am flight back to Houston.

It was all worth it.  Not only do I feel like Jared and Tina are family, but the memories we made those two days are priceless.

Meredith & Brian were my last couple of 2019 to tie the knot.  They chose Briscoe Manor and it was a gorgeous sunny and cool day.  Meredith wore her grandmothers wedding veil which was the perfect finishing touch.  As she opened her gift from Brian, her eyes filled with tears as she read what the letter included.  Brian’s mother is no longer with us here on earth.  Her wedding ring included little diamonds that surrounded the stone.  When each brother married, they presented their new wives with one of the four diamonds from their moms ring.  An incredibly special, sentimental and thoughtful wedding gift.

I was actually referred to these two by one of the grooms brothers who was a groomsman at another wedding I captured.  It was really special to know that they thought enough of me to give my name (thank you Matt & Callie!).  Brian and his brothers along with the rest of the grooms crew were all laughs and mischief.  It’s not every day that you see a groom look at his bride the way that Brian looks at Meredith.  To say that these two are a perfect match is putting it mildly.  They make being in love look so incredibly easy.  I hope you enjoy looking through their wedding day.

It was this July when I met Kat, her sister and her Mom for the first time.  I cannot express *how amazing* these women are.  Smart, kind and beautiful.  The best part is that they are women that I am extremely fond of and I can’t wait to get to know better.

Kat is incredible.  She’s on her way to a doctorate in child psychology.  Soon she’ll head to internship and   I have no doubt that she will do great things for many children.  Alex is a law man.  Don’t let his warm smile fool you, he’ll get you if you’re the bad guy!  He loves riding his bike through Buffalo Bayou with their sweet little rescue, Winnie right on his back in a dog carrier.  She has a pair of goggles and everything.  No doubt she’s living her best life.

This day could not have been more perfect, it was the first cold front of the season so the weather was beautiful and they were all smiles.  Kat & Alex work so well together.  They have no problem cuddling and getting close which makes what I do practically effortless.  I’m so grateful to be sharing such special moments with the two of them.  The wedding can’t come soon enough!

Happy couples in Houston

Ah, the perfect wedding date you’ve always envisioned…until you pick it and realize all the vendors you want are booked – your venue, photographer, coordinator, etc…etc…etc…that’s what it ultimately boils down to after you realize that your dream wedding date is already booked, right?

In the grand scheme of things, if your wedding date is the only thing that is giving you grief, you’re doing OK!  Don’t let a day of the month throw you off your tracks!  Things happen, goals change, dates change.  As long as you and the love of your life are standing in front of one another pledging vows of love and forever to one another, What. Else. Matters??

After three date changes, a change of venue and a lot of stress and worry, Megan and Tony will be married this coming March.  I met these two at a past Bridal Extravaganza and we’ve been in constant contact.  Finally, the stars aligned and they found the perfect setting for their wedding day.  It was finally time to plan engagement pictures.

Megan & Tony grew up in The Woodlands.  Sometimes they would skip (high) school and go sit at a new neighborhood park bench that they would spend lunch hour on, talking and kissing and dreaming of the future.  That future has arrived now, and it’s very real.

I cannot wait to capture the special wedding day for these two.  So much history and so much more future to come.
