A few weeks ago, I traveled to Charleston, South Carolina for the first time. This place is quaint, small, big, historic, southern, beachy, european….I could go on. It’s like no other place I’ve been. So many little mom and pop shops to discover, hidden alley’s, charm, great food, oversized porches, gas lanterns, clean safe streets….so naturally, I needed to shoot. Thanks to Houston Bridal Gallery, All That Blooms, and a bundle of my favorite….Lavender from L’Occitane en Provence, we set out on a very simplistic styled shoot in nothing less than the most challenging time of day. Below is a small account of what was captured. This goes to show that you don’t have to think inside the box when taking bridal portraits in the South. Of course the plantations are timeless, romantic, and beautiful– but sometimes they aren’t available, or the bride can’t afford to pay the fee. Still, you can find amazing places wherever you go, and on any budget. 😉
